Test retakes are being offered this summer to students who did not pass the Algebra I End of Course (EOC) exam or the Grade 10 FAST Reading exam, and to students who missed the Geometry, Biology, or U.S. History End of Course exams in the spring. As we prepare for a new chapter in the LMHS Band program, we want to take a moment to sincerely thank Mr. West for his incredible leadership, dedication, and passion throughout his years as our band director. His impact on our students and program will be felt for years to come.
With Mr. West’s final year coming to a close, we are excited to welcome Ms. Amelia Leitschuh as the new LMHS Band Director! Here’s a little more about Ms. Leitschuh: Amelia Leitschuh is a music educator & trombonist from the Tampa Bay Area. She began playing the trombone in 2011 & has been an educator since 2023. She has earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Tampa, where she served as principal trombone in the Wind Ensemble, lead trombone in the Jazz Ensemble, & a selected performer in the “Spartan Brass” Quintet. Ms. Leitschuh also served as President of the Kappa Kappa Psi Alpha Sigma chapter. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s in Music Education at Florida State University. Ms. Leitschuh has been an active performer in the Tampa area since 2020, performing with groups such as the Tampa Bay Symphonic Winds, Tampa Bay Big Band, South Shore Symphony Orchestra, & the Wesley Chapel Wind Ensemble. Ms. Leitschuh has taught marching band, concert band, jazz ensemble, & percussion ensemble at Pasco High School from 2023 to 2025.
